Throwback Thursday: 3 Artistes We Would Love To Make A Comeback

The last couple of years has seen many acts struggle to hit the limelight again after a few rides on the boat of fame. We all are aware fame is a fickle beast with no regard for anyone.

Let’s discuss three artists who were once famous and who we would love to see make a comeback.

Maleek Berry

Since hitting the limelight in 2012, Maleek never looked back for another six years as, within that period, he released some of the most celebrated hits and went on to collaborate with prominent acts like Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wale amongst others.

Known more as a producer, Maleek proved to be a versatile being as not only did he produce some of the greatest beats during that era, but he also released several chart-topping hits.

Songs like ‘Been Calling,’ ‘Eko Miami,’ ‘Kontrol,’ amongst others till date remain a favourite amongst music lovers. If there is one act we would love to make a comeback during these trying musical times, Maleek Berry tops our list as with him we are certain we would be getting some amazing musical content as we all deserve.

Chinko Ekun

Not one to have fully immersed himself into the star lifestyle, Chinko Ekun has continued to dabble in and out of this “area” since becoming a household name.

He has neither been in nor outside the star cycle but has continued to make attempts hitting the spotlight via other channels other than what he is known for. In 2017, he made headlines with weight loss, losing 15kg in a month.

Chinko briefly made a comeback to our consciousness before again fading into oblivion only to reappear in 2019 with the hit single ‘Able God,‘ which not only trended for weeks but also topped several charts across the nation.

His stardom again waned. He has continued to release records and, hopefully, he will make it atop the charts again.

Victor AD

If there is an artist I would love to make a comeback today, then it’s most definitely to be Victor AD. Following the release of his monster hit single ‘Wetin We gain,’ barely has he been the focus of discussion. Victor, however, continued to release records including ‘Nothing To Prove,’ a 2021 album which arguably deserves a spot on the top 10 best albums for that year.

Victor remains a champion yesterday, today and, hopefully, tomorrow.
