Tems becomes the first woman to win BET’s ”Best International Act.”
Born Temilade Openiyi, Tems first hit the spotlight following the release of her debut single ”Mr. Rebel” which went on to garner her a massive following on social media as well as several nominations including a BET ”Best International Act” nomination.
Her popularity continued to grow amongst music lovers on and off social media and in 2020, she was featured on Wizkid’s ”Essence” a single from his 4th studio album ”Made In Lagos.” That feature went on to secure Tems several awards, locally and internationally.
She has also worked with other top acts in the business including Davido, Drake, Future, and Justin Bieber amongst others.
In 2022, with multiple chart-topping singles, collaborations and 2 extended plays Tems became the first woman to win the BET ”Best International Act” award. Big congratulations to the entertainer.
