Woman Crush Wednesday: Stephanie Okereke-Linus

Nollywood actress Stephanie Okereke-Linus needs little to no introduction. With over two decades ago of experience, the actress and mom of two have remained a force to contend with in the country.

In 2011, the actress launched her foundation Extended Hands Foundation which caters to women living with Vesico Vagina Fistula. Her foundation has today aided in the treatment of over 100 northern women living with this ailment.

Stephanie is also a producer and director, making her directorial debut in the movie ” Through The Glass,” where she also served as the scriptwriter and producer. Her advocacy for the rights of women and adolescent girls continued when she again released her multiple-award-winning movie Dry which focuses on the vesicovaginal fistula condition as well as child marriage.

In 2022, her foundation in partnership with Ford began a campaign on sexual and gender-based violence, taking their messages to many schools in the Lagos state to further educate the students. Speaking on this, Stephanie stated;

“With a rise of domestic violence cases around us, there is an urgent need for engaging local communities to address the root causes of SGBV to bring effective behavior and social norms change,” she emphasized.
