Suspended Rivers Governor Fubara visits President Tinubu in Lagos

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, visited President Bola Tinubu at his home in Lagos on Tuesday.

This visit happened less than a week after Fubara said he was putting aside his pride and personal interests to bring peace back to Rivers State.

The details of what the president and Fubara discussed during their meeting have not been made public yet.

Before this visit, Fubara had said he was trying to make peace with Nyesom Wike, his predecessor, who is now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Fubara called Wike his “boss.”

“We have to come down from our high horses and subject ourselves to the peace process. And that is what we are doing,” he had said
