The ancient city of Benin came alive yesterday as His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, celebrated the 10th anniversary of his coronation.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Palace of the Oba of Benin in Edo State, attracted dignitaries, traditional leaders, government officials, entertainers and well-wishers who gathered to honour the monarch’s decade on the throne.
Oba Ewuare II made a grand entrance alongside Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, setting the tone for a memorable celebration filled with culture, pageantry and entertainment.
In his royal address, the Oba reflected on his years on the throne and the enduring importance of the Benin Kingdom’s rich heritage, unity and cultural identity.
