Stray Bullet Kills Teen at Lagos Peace Walk Against Cultism

A 16-year-old boy, identified as Mustapha, was tragically killed by a stray bullet during a suspected cult clash at Oyingbo, Ebute Metta, Lagos, on Monday.
The incident occurred shortly after a peace walk organized by local youths to protest the surge in cult-related violence. Eyewitnesses said an argument broke out among some participants, escalating when a suspected cultist opened fire. Mustapha, who was not affiliated with any cult group, was hit by a stray bullet and died on the way to the hospital.
One of the event’s organizers was also shot and is reportedly in critical condition. The incident caused panic in the area, forcing the event to end abruptly.
This comes just a day after two men were found dead—one beheaded—in a separate cult-related incident in the Idimu area of Lagos, sparking further fears about rising gang violence in the state.
