Lagos APC Sets N5.5m Fee for Chairmanship Aspirants Ahead of LG Polls

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged the total fee for chairmanship aspirants in the upcoming July 12 local government elections at N5.5 million.

According to official guidelines signed by APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and Secretary, Dr. Adeola Jokomba, the breakdown includes a N5 million nomination fee and a N500,000 administrative charge. Female aspirants will enjoy a 50% discount on the nomination fee, paying N2.5 million, while still paying the full administrative fee.

Aspirants under 40 will also receive a 50% discount on the nomination fee, while Persons Living With Disabilities are exempt from nomination fees altogether, paying only N250,000 as administrative charges.

For councillorship positions, male aspirants will pay N1.1 million in total, while female aspirants are to pay N350,000. Young aspirants and persons with disabilities will also enjoy fee waivers and discounts.

The party emphasized that vice chairmanship positions do not attract additional fees and outlined eligibility criteria, including age limits, academic qualifications, party membership, and endorsement requirements.

All payments must be made via bank draft to the APC, Lagos State.
