Nigerian lawmaker Shina Abiola Peller has urged an elderly man to vote for young candidates in 2023.
Shina Peller, 44, is an All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Oyo State, at the House of Representatives.
“Your generation messed up,” he told the man during a youth festival in state capital Ibadan on Saturday.
A conversation ensued and the elderly man seemed to agree with the lawmaker.
Before both men talked, Shina Peller, offered the man a cash gift which he happily received and offered prayers to the lawmaker in return.
Shina Peller asked if he had a permanent voter card (PVC) and if he votes. “Me? I am a politician,” the man replied and gave a rundown of his participation in previous elections. He also said Shina Peller gave him money in the past.
