Nigeria and South Africa Sign Landmark Mining Deal to Drive Investment and Innovation

Nigeria and South Africa have signed a major mining cooperation agreement to boost investment, knowledge sharing, and technology transfer between the two countries.

The deal, signed in Abuja by Nigeria’s Solid Minerals Minister Dele Alake and South Africa’s Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Mantashe, focuses on areas like geological training using UAVs, spectral remote sensing for mineral mapping, and joint exploration of energy and agro minerals.

It also includes data sharing, training in mineral processing, and value addition strategies.

Both nations expressed optimism that the partnership will attract investment, create jobs, and drive industrialisation across Africa.
