Portable Remanded in Kwara Prison Over Failure to Meet Bail Conditions in Osupa Defamation Case

Controversial singer Portable, born Okikiola Badmus, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, after failing to meet strict bail conditions imposed by an Upper Area Court.
The street-pop star appeared in court on Monday to face charges of criminal defamation filed by Fuji legend Saheed Osupa. The court granted him bail set at N1 million with two sureties—one of whom must be a PMAN official and the other a GRA property owner with a valid C of O.
The case followed a petition filed on March 21, 2025, after Portable released a viral Instagram video accusing Osupa of sabotaging his music and calling him derogatory names. Osupa claimed the video was defamatory and incited public hatred.
Kwara police confirmed that Portable confessed to the allegations during interrogation. He faces multiple charges including defamation, incitement, threats to life, and conduct likely to cause public unrest.
The singer was arrested in Abeokuta and transferred to Ilorin for further investigation. He remains in custody pending his ability to fulfill bail requirements.
