Yomi Fabiyi calls for the arrest of Princess, petitions Lagos state governor

[8:13 am, 11/05/2023] Yèyè: Nigerian actor Yomi Fabiyi has penned an open letter to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, seeking the arrest of colleague Damilola Adekoya popularly known as Princess the Comedian.

Fabiyi, who has continued to play a major role in the Baba Ijesha rape case, petitioned the governor seeking that Damola Adekola, the 14-year-old victim, who also happens to be Princess’ foster child, be investigated.

According to Fabiyi, a new development in the case proves that the spermatozoa found in the private part of Damola are not of Baba Ijesha.

The petition also stated that a police investigation carried out after the arrest of Baba Ijesha revealed that Okele, another Nigerian actor who lived with Princess was also sexually abusing the child, a revelation Princess never contested.

Fabiyi continued in his petition saying the duo ( Damola Adekola and Okele) were not present during Baba Ijesha’s trial adding that the prosecuting counsel provided excuses on why the duo were absent during the trial. He continued saying a ‘POTENTIAL PEADOPHILE’ is a free man while Baba Ijesha who was allegedly lured to commit the immoral act was sentenced.

His letter reads,

“It is a known fact that after Baba Ijesha’s arrest, police began an investigation, and days after SPERM was found on the fourteen(14) year old girl which led to her confession that one DAMOLA ADEKOLA, a close ally and neighbor to Princess has been having sex with her which led to Damola’s arrest and his subsequent confession too.

The other suspect, the security in the house with the alias “Okele” escaped arrest. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TRIED FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW. I thought he will be presented for trial during Baba Ijesha’s case but the prosecution gave excuses on why he was not on trial, meaning a POTENTIAL PEDOPHILE is allowed to walk free, and Baba Ijesha who was lured to sentence.

The sad news is that he may have continued sexually exploiting the victim and unsuspecting victims who may be secretly licking their wounds. I say this because Princess Comedian confirmed in court she was aware a year before Baba Ijesha’s TRAP that the duo of Damola and her house security guard Okele have been sexually abusing the same bait girl, which she sought spiritual help only for.

The danger of that is after Baba Ijesha’s arrest, SEMEN was still found on the girl’s private, a blatant case of CHILD NEGLIGENCE punishable under the laws of Lagos State. There are so many other concerns also on the veracity of “ADOPTION” Princess laid claims to. I doubt if there is evidence of legal adoption yet the trial and your government let that pass too.

He who comes to EQUITY must come with CLEAN HANDS. There was also a rumor that the pregnancy was aborted twice for the girl. Respectfully, Sir, the few CHILD RIGHTS advocates in the form of NGOs, JOURNALISTS, ELITES, and CELEBRITIES who paid attention to the case appear to ignore some of these details in their reports either intentionally or through inadvertence. Sir, as an admired public officer who has the mandate of the good people of Lagos State, you are a man I value; keen, tenacious, forthright with a clear conscience.

It is my appeal that you swing to action to kindly save the girl and save human rights. Posterity will NEVER forget you. I don’t want to lead any other protest or approach the court on this new development before THE RIGHT things are done in this matter, my conscience is telling me I have waited too long. May God guide the youths to the truth to know as only the truth can set Nigeria FREE. While thanking you for your prompt response and decision in this matter”.

By Tukur Muntari

A Senator-Elect from Kano South, Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, has urged fellow Senators-Elect and Members-Elect of the House of Representatives to ensure the election of Presiding Officers of the National Assembly without acrimony or imposition.

Sumaila, a former Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (House of Reps) made the call in a congratulatory message to all Senators-Elect and Members-Elect of the National Assembly circulated to newsmen on Wednesday.

“As Senators and Members-elect, we should be democratic and put our house in order so that both the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives can emerge in a manner devoid of acrimony or imposition,” he said.

Kawu Sumaila, who is also a former member of the House of Representatives, said while he did not oppose the idea of party supremacy, such must never be pursued at the expense of separation of powers which is the hallmark of the Presidential System of Government.

“Political parties should only play a role in selection of leaders of party in the parliament. The lawmakers should be allowed to exercise the right to choose their presiding officers from among themselves as stipulated by the Constitution without any interference of ethnic, regional or religious coloration.

“The Constitution is explicit about how the President and Deputy President of the Senate shall be elected. Section 50 (1) (a) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) is unambiguous that “there shall be a President and Deputy President of the Senate, who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves.

“Similarly, Section 50 (1) (b) of the Constitution states that “a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves.

”Also, the Senate and House of Representatives Standing rules provide for selection or appointment of principal officers and other officers of the Senate and the House,” he further stated.

He said to avoid the type of unnecessary distraction that marred the leadership of the National Assembly in the past, especially at this critical moment where Nigeria is confronted with numerous challenges, there is a compelling need for lawmakers-elect, as elected representatives of the people, to be mindful of the expectations of Nigerians “as we prepare to elect our presiding officers next month.”

Those expectations, the Senator-Elect said, included true federalism, restructuring, resource control, local government autonomy, security challenges, infrastructure decay, wastage and corruption, poverty and unemployment, marginalization and nepotism, as well as issues relating to secession, among others.
