Kano APC Demands Public Apology from Kwankwaso Before Joining Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has stated that any individual seeking to join its ranks, including Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, must first issue a public apology for past derogatory comments made about President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other APC leaders.
In a statement on Friday, Kano APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas emphasized that loyalty and respect are central to the party’s values, and any prospective member must express remorse for previous statements as a sign of respect for future relations. Abbas further noted that while the APC is open to welcoming new members, including Kwankwaso, the party would not compromise its principles for political expediency.
“We unequivocally call on all those prospective decampees who have earlier made derogatory statements against our leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his deputy, Senator Kashim Shettima, to offer a public apology as a sign of remorse,” Abbas said.
He also reiterated that APC’s doors are open to anyone, including Kwankwaso, who has reportedly lost his political alliances with other parties. However, Abbas warned that joining the APC would not be a shield for politicians attempting to evade accountability for corruption or misdeeds.
The party’s position is clear: loyalty, respect, and adherence to its principles are non-negotiable.
