JUST IN: After NURTW ban, Sanwo-Olu appoints MC Oluomo as MD of new Lagos transport committee

Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, will lead the Lagos State Transportation Parks And Garages Management Committee, we have gathered.

This followed the ban Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu placed on the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) on Thursday night.

MC Oluomo, who was chairman of Lagos NURTW pulled out of the union after its national chairman, Tajudeen Baruwa, suspended him for alleged insubordination.

Baruwa had appointed another chairman to lead keke operators’ union in the state but MC Oluomo reportedly saw that an encroachment on his powers in Lagos NURTW.

“I urge the Lagos State Government to take over the management of parks in the state,” MC Oluomo said during a press conference yesterday.

Hours after, the government banned NURTW indefinitely, adding that a committee would be inaugurated to manage motor parks in the state.

Reports reaching GoldMyne TV says MC Oluomo will be the general manager of that committee, effectively solidifying his position over transport unionism in the state, and without national interference.
