NURTW saga: Sanwo-Olu denies appointing MC Oluomo as MD of new Lagos transport committee

Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, has not been named to lead the Lagos State Transportation Parks And Garages Management Committee, Governor Sanwo-Olu says.

The governor made the clarification through his media aide, Gboyega Akosile, on Friday morning.

This followed reports, citing MC Oluomo’s son, that the former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) had been appointed to lead the state’s new initiative.

Sanwo-Olu had banned NURTW on Thursday night, hours after MC Oluomo pulled out of the union and asked the government to take over the running of motor parks in the state.

MC Oluomo pulled out of NURTW after its national chairman, Tajudeen Baruwa, suspended him for alleged insubordination.

“I urge the Lagos State Government to take over the management of parks in the state,” MC Oluomo said during a press conference yesterday.

Hours later, the government banned NURTW indefinitely, adding that a committee would be inaugurated to manage motor parks in the state.

Sanwo-Olu has now debunked reports that MC Oluomo will be the general manager of that committee.
